Salt substitutes reduce blood pressure

A recent randomized clinical trial of a salt substitute (containing 75% sodium chloride and 25% potassium chloride) involving 2,376 rural Peruvian patients over 18 years of age showed a decrease in blood pressure, especially in high-risk groups, and a two-fold reduction in the incidence of new hypertension.
